Nizamabad: The prevailing droughtconditions have affected the joy of Dasara festival as preparations for it on slow pace. Dasara is celebrated in a grand manner in Telangana.
This is the first time that the festival has come after carving out of separte Telangana. But the enthusiasm is found to be lacking. It is a common that people in the region shop a lot for the festival.
But owing to various reasons, shopping is going on at a slower pace. Most of the people in rural areas have not yet begun with the festival shopping due to the crop loss.
It is the agriculture yield that propels other sectors in Telangana. As the farmers have incurred heavy loss due to various reasons, there seems not much festival activity in the newly carved out state.
Scanty rainfall in kharif has adversely affected the farming community which has an impact on festival.
