Devotees are waiting for extra trips or special trains to reach Kerala

Visakhapatnam: Thousands of Ayyappa devotees are struggling to get railway reservations. Around 40 thousand devotees from North Andhra are waiting for the special trains as all the berths are already booked in the regular trains.

Devotees are waiting for extra trips or special trains to reach Kerala. At present around ten regular trains are running to various cities in Kerala via Vizag. Passengers reach Tiruvananthapuram, Cochin, Alleppey, and some other cities in Kerala and from there they proceed to Sabarimala by local transport.

Large number of devotees wish to visit Sabarimala in November and December as the temple will be opened on November 17. Senior railway official, M. Yelvendar Yadav said that based on the demand they plan to run new trains to Kerala for the convenience of Ayyappa devotees.
