Andhra Pradesh approves master plan for Rajamundry

The master plan is aimed for a planned development of the city up to 2031
Rajahmundry: The state government has approved the master plan of Rajahmundry municipal corporation incorporating 13 neighbouring villages and issued an order recently. As per GO No. 174, the master plan is aimed for a planned development of the city up to 2031 and villages including Kateru, Kolamur, Palacharla, Lalacheruvu, Diwan Cheruvu, Pidimgoyyi, Hukumpeta, Satellite City, Bommur, Dowleswaram, Gadala, Madhavapuram and Torredu. The total area is spread around 16,238 hectares land.
Following the issue of the order, the civic authorities will inform the development at the municipal corporation council and later call for objections from the stakeholders by prominently displaying the order at municipal corporation office and also at all 13 gram panchayat offices for about 60 days. All the objections will be put in proper format and will be sent to the director of town and country planning.
The responses for all objections will be prepared case by case and the municipal corporation council will be informed about it. The council has to pass a resolution accepting the master plan. Then the revised copy of the master plan will be sent to the state government thro-ugh the district Collector. It is expected to take over 100 days to complete the exercise.
City planner V. Ram Kumar said, “The master plan will help for a planned growth of the city and several amenities and facilities will be developed keeping in mind its future needs.”
