Khammam: Aswaraopet MLA Thati Venkateswarlu filed a complaint against 12 TD activists in Kukkunoor police station on Thursday alleging that they had manhandled him.
According to the details, West Godavari district collector K. Bhaskar, Eluru MP Maganti Babu, Polavaram MLA Srinivas and others visited Kukkunoor on Thursday and addressed a public meeting.
The locals asked the officials to pay compensation, as per the new land acquisition act to their lands, to which the collector responded in the positive.
Even when the collector and MP were talking to the people, Aswaraopet MLA T Venkateswarlu reached the place and faulted the officials for conducting the meeting without any prior intimation to him.
Soon some TD men picked up an argument with him for stalling the meeting and in no time, tempers ran high leading to exchange of fisticuffs between the MLA's men and TD men.
