CPI demands Rs 10,000 as aid to Farmers ineligible for waiver
TD had promised unconditional loan waiver before the elections
Guntur: The CPI on Wednesday demanded Rs 10,000 cash in aid to each tenant farmer who is not eligible to avail the agriculture loan waiver scheme, during a dharna in front of the collectorate.
CPI district secretary J. Ajay Kumar said that educated youths were adopting cultivation as profession by taking land on lease but they were barred from the loan waiver scheme.
He said that the TD had promised unconditional loan waiver but was now setting conditions like Aadhaar linkage, which were preventing tenant farmers from benefiting.
