Noida: Girl students of a JSS college held a demonstration on Thursday after a spy camera was found in a washroom of the girls' hostel.
College management has ordered inquiry and lodged FIR against unknown persons.
Earlier in the day, a girl noticed the spy camera in the washroom in the hostel. She informed two of her hostel mates, who together complained to college management.
Suspecting trouble, the students checked other wash rooms to see if there were more cameras.
According to the college management, after the students complained about water leakage few days back, a plumber had come and rectified the defect.
The management suspects plumber may be the culprit.
"We have seized the spy camera. There was an IGB memory chip, which has been destroyed. Through CCTV footage we are trying to identify the plumber or other man who had installed the spy camera in washroom," Deputy Superintendent of Police Vishwajit Srivastava said.
