Manoj murder: SIT summons CPM leader
Kozhikode: CPM Kuthuparamba area committee secretary Dhananjayan was summoned by the SIT on Wednesday for questioning in connection with the murder of RSS leader Manoj.
The SIT also moved a production warrant petition at Thalassery sessions court seeking police custody of C. Prakasan, MD of Patyam Service Society and CPM Kizhake Kathirur local committee member who was arrested for hiding the prime accused Vikraman.
The SIT has sought 14 days’ custody of the accused to interrogate him to get details about his aides who helped him hide Prakasan at Payyanur. The SIT has got more evidence to prove the involvement of the accused and some other CPM leaders in the area to guard the accused after the crime.
SIT sources confirmed that Kizhakke Kathirur local committee member Ramachandran and driver Vineesh, both summoned by them for questioning, were absconding. “We do not know their whereabouts. They have not responded to our summons for questioning and are absconding,” a senior SIT official told DC.
If they continue to dodge the summons, the SIT would have to move the court to get arrest warrants against the duo, sources said.
