Telangana plans to float a new union comprising nearly 15 unions of the state
Adilabad: After having lured several elected representatives of other political parties into its fold, the TRS has now focused on teachers unions. Two teachers unions — Telangana Progressive Recognised Teachers Union (TPRTU) and Telangana Rashtra Teachers Union (TRTU) had already been merged and a new union will soon be formed with the support of the state government.
Sources said the TRS leaders are in consultation with the leaders of Telangana United Teachers Federation (TUTF), Telangana Physical Education Teachers Association (TPETA) and Progressive Recognised Teachers Union of Telangana State (PRTUTS) and that pressure is being exerted to bring all the teachers under an umbrella organisation Telangana Teachers Union (TTU), which will be affiliated to the TRS.
