Mysore: Film buffs are in for a treat this Mysore Dasara as they will be able to watch 42 popular Kannada movies and four Hindi films including Ashiqui 2 and Kahani for just Rs 25 in multiplexes and Rs 15 in balconies in theatres across the city during the nine- day celebration.
Besides 15 award winning Kannada films, at least six films from regional language film festivals, and 23 films from France, UK, Taiwan, Germany, Hongkong, Iran, Sweden, Italy and the USA that have made it to international film festivals, will be screened in association with the Mysore Film Society, Alliance Franchise, Gayaate Institute, Iran Culture House, Balasi Institute, Taiwan Institute Cultural Centre and Entitle DVD Centre at the Rani Bahaddur Institute Auditorium.
While veteran sandalwood actress, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan will be honoured for having completed 50 years in the film Industry, a galaxy of sandalwood celebrities like housing minister, Ambareesh, woman and child development minister, Umashree, MLC Jayamala, Savkar Janaki, director T N Seetharam, Srinath, Yash, and Pooja Gandhi are likely to grace the inaugural event of the Dasara film festival on September 25, according to minister and Dasara Executive committee chairman, V. Srinivasprasad.
Also, two award winning movies like Kasthuri Nivasa and Minchina Vota will be screened per day at the Senate Bhavan of University of Mysore.
