The Rajendranagar Police seized 70 sachets of Arrack during a raid

Hyderabad: Excise officials seized nearly 800 litres of illicit liquor on Tuesday after intercepting a jeep near Charminar. The Task Force officials belonging to the Excise department, who carried out the operation, also arrested the driver of the jeep. However, the manufacturer of the liquor is absconding. “The Task force searched a Force Trax Toofan vehicle near Charminar and found the illicit liquor filled inside tyre tubes. The smuggler, who was driving the vehicle, was arrested and the hunt for manufacturer is on,” said a senior Excise official.

The liquor was being smuggled from Mahabubnagar to the old city, officials said. In another case, a 35-year- old woman was arrested for selling Arrak at Rajendranagar. The woman, Ms. V. Bujji was found selling Arrak at Attapur. The Rajendranagar Police seized 70 sachets of Arrack during a raid. The accused has been arrested.
