Telangana yet to lower ATF tax: Ashok Gajapati Raju
Telangana goverment is yet to respond to centre's proposal to lower taxes on air fuel
Hyderabad: While several states have agreed to lower tax on aviation turbine fuel (ATF) to provide relief to the ailing aviation sector, Telangana hasn’t responded to the Centre’s proposal yet, informed union civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapati Raju at an HICC event here on Monday.“We had sent proposals to all states. While Jharkhand, West Bengal, Punjab, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh and other states have agreed to lower the taxes on air fuel, there has been no word from the Telangana government,” said Mr Raju.
Speaking on the sidelines of an event organised by the Aeronautical Society of India at HICC, Information Technology minister K.T. Rama Rao said, “With our new industrial policy, we will be rolling out several measures for facilitating setting up of aviation projects in Telangana like a single window clearence system and other incentives.”Recently, Mr Raju had asked loss-making carrier Air India to refuel its aircrafts at airports in states where tax on ATF is lower.
