Xiaomi has sold whopping 1.75 lakh units in India within two months. With around 95,000 units of Mi 3 already sold, the Redmi 1S will cross that number to reach 120,000 units today.
The Redmi 1S has already sold 80,000 units in the two previous sales and another 40,000 units will be on the shelf today. With over 350,000 people already registered for the units, it is definite that the sale today will end in less than four seconds again. Furthermore, Flipkart has announced that, unlike the last two Redmi 1S sales, the handset buyers will not receive the free screen protector and SIM card converter trays at this sale. In short, you would have to purchase the screen protector and the SIM trays (if needed) separately for a cost of around Rs 2,00.

Taking into consideration that Xiaomi (possibly) sells around one Lakh units in each sale, we assume that the Redmi 1S could see its last sale today. However, to confirm this, we tried checking with the Xiaomi India head Manu Jain and VP of Xiaomi, Global, Hugo Barra, but haven’t received any official confirmation as yet. We are yet to hear from them.

Moving on, Xiaomi has to still cater to Indian fans with the Mi 4, which was recently launched. However, before the Mi 4 shows up in India, Xiaomi has to still release the Redmi Note, the quad-core 5.5-inch phablet and the Mi Pad tablet. The two products will have to be on sale before the Mi 4 launch, which is expected by December. So ideally, they have just two more months to give India the Redmi Note and the Mi Pad before they introduce the Mi 4 in India.
Therefore, will the Redmi 1S have its last sale today? We are yet to get official confirmation from Xiaomi. Until then, Mi fans, all the best for the Redmi 1S sales today.
