People endorsed TRS rule, says KCR after thumping victory in Medak
Hyderabad: The throbbing victory of TRS in the Medak Lok Sabha bypoll in Telangana is an endorsement of the state government's functioning, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said on Tuesday.
"People endorsed what we did in these three months," he told reporters after Telangana Rashtra Samiti nominee K Prabhakar Reddy was declared elected by a huge margin of over 3.61 lakh votes.
Thanking Medak and the TRS rank and file for the victory, Rao said that his party would fulfil promises made to the people.
TRS got public support in the bypolls like no other party in the country at a time when the majority of BJP candidates lost even in Vadodara where Prime Minister Narendra Modi had won earlier, he said.
Coming down heavily on Congress, TDP and BJP, he alleged that opposition parties have been attacking the TRS-led government without any real basis.
"They were finding fault with each and every move of the government," he said, adding that these parties should be constructive in their approach.
Observing that his government was involved in planning for the development of the state during the last three months, he said that several government programmes would begin from the Dussehra festival in early October.
Opposition parties wanted the legislative assembly to be convened "urgently", but the newly-carved out state has a convenience as per the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act to get the budget passed by December 2, he said.
The government would fulfil all promises, including farm loan waiver, made to the people, he said.
Replying to a query, he expressed confidence that the TRS would be successful in the forthcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls.
Replying to a query, he said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has assured him that there would be no discrimination among different states.
