Committee finalises All India Service allocation
Hyderabad: The Centre appointed Prathyush Sinha Committee has finally completed the allocation of All India Service (AIS) officers to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states on Monday after several twists and turns. Official sources said 10 IAS officers who were allotted to Telangana provisionally on August 22 have now been shifted to AP, while four IAS officers who were allotted to AP were shifted to TS. However, the committee kept the final allotment list “highly confidential” and is expected to make it public after Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives his nod.
The list will be sent to Mr Modi within two days. After his approval, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will upload the details of officers allotted to TS and AP on its website. The committee held a meeting for over three hours in New Delhi to finalise the allocation. Telangana chief secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma and his AP counterpart I.Y.R. Krishna Rao were present at the meeting.
The meeting discussed the objections filed by several officers regarding the provisional allotment. Sources informed that senior IAS officers P.V. Ramesh, B.P. Acharya, Aditya Nath Das, Dr Dinesh Kumar, J. Rama-nand, Shantha Kumari, Veena Ish, G. Anantha Ramu, S.S. Rawat and Adhar Sinha, who were allotted to TS earlier have now been shifted to AP.
Similarly, IAS officers Ajay Sawhney, Vinay Kumar, B.R. Meena and Ajay Jain, who were allotted to AP earlier, have been shifted to TS. All members of the committee and the CSs of both the states signed on the final allotment list giving their consent, which will now be referred to Mr Modi for final approval. Sources said the committee refused to accept any changes regarding IPS and IFS officers as sought by some of them in the provisional list.
