Conference of over 4,500 CBSE schools from October 31

Kochi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) plans to hold the national conference of 250 Sahodaya Schools’ Complexes that network with over 4,500 CBSE schools for the first time in Kerala in October 31 to November 2 this year.
While Kochi is hosting the 21st national conference, Raipur in Chhattisgarh will host the second of the twin meets from December 16 to 18. Principals and heads of school managements will debate a variety of themes triggering from the main theme , ‘Life Skills Education’ at the two summits that are poised to give a new dimension to the education provided at CBSE schools presently. Two conferences became necessary as the board found it impossible to accommodate all the delegates at one venue.
“We are trying to involve as many heads of institutions as possible in the deliberations and so have scheduled two meets this time with a larger number of schools participating,” said CBSE chairman, Vineet Joshi, when contacted. “The Kochi meet will be held at the CIAL international convention centre at Nedumbassery. We expect 1500 delegates from various parts of the country,” said Dr Indira Rajan, general convener of the Kochi National Sahodaya Conference. The sub-themes that delegates will ponder at the summits are Life Skills Approach, Adolescence Education, Alternate Pathways of Learning, Problem Solving Ability, Multiple Modes of Assessment, Assessing Co-Scholastic Areas, Assessing Life Skills and Whole Brain Thinking.
The Sahodaya School Complex is a group of neighbourhood schools promoted by CBSE, which voluntarily come together to share best practices and innovative strategies in various aspects of school education including curriculum design, evaluation and pedagogy and also in providing support to teachers by regular capacity building exercises.
