Students displayed their projects that have useful every day applications
Hyderabad: The air at the Al-Habeeb College of Engineering and Technology was charged with excitement as it was a double celebration, Innovation Day and the 13th Orientation Programme. The event saw students from the third and second year display their several projects. From a quadcopter to a robot to a solar car and a lot more, the list seemed endless.
And there were a few that garnered a lot of attention like the robot that can walk and perform functions, like cleaning a home. Md. Amair, the student who headed the group says, “I have been researching on robots for a long time. It took us close to two weeks to put it together. The robot does a few basic activities, like lifting objects and placing them at a higher position, dusting things at home, carrying things from place to place. It can be handled with a remote control.” The 6-foot robot needs just one hour of charging and runs for 2-3 hours.
The other invention that turned a lot of heads was the copter with four rotors, a quadcopter. Md. Abdul Sameer, the group leader says, “The quadcopter can be used in real-life situations as well. For example, it can be used in the recent floods in Kashmir. The quadcopter can reach remote places and click photos giving an idea of the situation and thus, help in the planning of rescue operations.”
