Shah Rukh Khan praises ‘gutsy’ Padukone
Mumbai: Several actors have come out in support of Deepika Padukone after she reacted in anger to a leading newspaper’s report OMG: Deepika Padukone’s cleavage show. She had shot back on Twitter: “YES! I am a woman. I have breasts AND a cleavage! You got a problem?” When we caught up with the lady herself at the music launch of Happy New Year (HNY) in Mumbai, she refused to comment on the issue any further: “I have said whatever I had to say, everything else will be taken care of.”
But co-star Shah Rukh Khan, who was present on the dais, said: “Let’s not turn this into a controversy. We are all professional actors and sometimes, we get photographed unflatteringly. All the guys sitting here (at the event) Boman, Abhishek, Sonu stand by Deepika. Her tweet is fantastic. However, it is stupid to even say that we stand by her, Deepika had the guts to say whatever she had to say. But let’s not sit here, discuss it and ‘help’ make it an issue, giving it undeserving publicity.” Later in the event, SRK took another question. When asked if he will go to Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss to promote HNY, he said, “Promotions of a film are taken care by people concerned. It is gracious of Salman bhai and Bigg Boss people to have thought about inviting us the cast of HNY on their show. We will definitely go on the Bigg Boss show provided we have time. But if we are not able to match our time to be able to be present at the Bigg Boss, please do not take it otherwise.”
