Rohit Shetty keen on featuring 'Dharavi-like-place' in America in films

"Every film maker has a different point of view to represent facts from the society"

Mumbai: Director Rohit Shetty feels films need to be entertaining as well should show our country in good light. Rohit dislikes the fact that a place like Dharavi has now turned into a tourist site. He has decided to find a place like Dharavi in America and feature it in his upcoming film.

“Film making is a costly as well as a serious business. We should be able to entertain our audiences as our audience is fully aware of the fact as to what they want. Every film maker has a different point of view while representing facts from the society. People from the Metro cities are busy making both their ends meet. Through my films I like to give reality of life and chose concept which will give them at least two and a half hours of stress free life. Yes! My films are larger than life...action is in my blood. I always end up blasting cars…I have learned film making while assisting dad as the action director. I am happy people come to watch my films.”

He continues, “We are seeing a changed Mumbai. But having shown Dharavi in ‘Slumdog millionaire’ has brought in shame and disgrace for our city. Surprisingly, whenever the firangs’ visit Mumbai they have to visit Dharavi. It has become like a sightseeing place for them...I feel saddened about it.” He smiles and adds, “Humein bhi America mein Dharavi jaisi jagah dhoond kar film banani padegi!!” (We also have to look out for a place like Dharavi in America and make a movie there.)

Mumbai progressing ahead towards being a Sanghai, he says, “Yes! I am happy with metro trains running across Mumbai, constructions of many bridges as well as the sea-link has added beauty to our city. I remember when I was a kid my mom kept telling me about the Metro rail and sea links to be made. However, now my son is eight years old and all this has successfully come up in the recent past. I feel the implementation of changes to be brought in should be done on a faster pace!!”
