KOZHIKODE: The SIT probing the murder of RSS leader Manoj gathered evidence from Dr Gopalakrishna Pillai of Pariyaram Medical College Hospital, who conducted the post-mortem of Manoj, on Saturday. The team quizzed the doctor on the nature of injuries on the body of Manoj.
The post-mortem report had revealed that a deep injury on the neck of Manoj had caused the death. Pramod, who accompanied Manoj in the fateful drive on September 1, had revealed in his statement that Manoj was hacked to death with an axe, whereas Vikraman, the prime accused who surrendered the other day, admitted during interrogation that he hacked him with a long knife which he had left safe in a hideout. The SIT crosschecked the claims of the accused with the finding of the expert.
According to experts, the injuries resulted from splinters of a bomb blast and were ten days’ old. Meanwhile, the police cyber cell experts claim that Vikraman’s mobile phone was activated till August 30. Whether he used any other mobile number since the murder on September 1 is under investigation, according to sources in the police.
