AP set up panel to shift Head of Departments from Hyderabad

Hyderabad: With many employees unwilling to move from Hyderabad, the Andhra Pradesh government has set up a committee to expedite the shifting of the heads of the departments to Andhra Pradesh.

Earlier, the AP government had announced that Vijayawada city would be the temporary capital of the state. But the latest orders make no mention of Vijayawada city and say “geographical jurisdiction of state of AP”.

It seems that in a bid to decentralise the administration, the government may not relocate all the heads of the departments to Vijayawada. State government has asked the committee comprising principal secretaries of finance, roads and buildings and municipal administration to submit its report within 15 days.
