I am more than just a pretty face: Imran Abbas
Mumbai: Pakistani actor Imran Abbas, who made his Bollywood debut with 'Creature 3D', says he hopes the film will silence people back home, who think he is just good looking and cannot act.
"People have the wrong conception that I am only about looks and can't act. I want to tell them that only good looks will never let you survive in the Pakistan television industry. You have to perform. I hope 'Creature' will be a fitting response to them," Abbas said.
The 31-year-old actor, who is a qualified architect, is best known for his performance as Hammad/Maddy in TV show 'Khuda Aur Muhabbat'. After working for several years in TV dramas, Abbas made his film debut in 'Anjuman'.
In the recently released Vikram Bhatt-directed 3D monster film 'Creature', the actor from across the border is seen romancing Bipasha Basu. Abbas says he is happy to have begun his Bollywood journey with 'Creature 3D'.
"I am very excited and have butterflies in my stomach. It's a very strange feeling. Starting my new innings in a new industry and in front of a new audience," he said, adding he was touched by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt's praise for his performance in the film.
The actor said his on-screen romantic image suits the character that he essays in the film.
"I create some magical and romantic moments in the film. The music of the film is very melodious and much needed in the film. So they had to take someone who can pull this off with a romantic image," he said.
