RIMS to come up in Kurnool
kurnool: Deputy Chief Minister K.E. Krishna Murthy on Friday announced that the government would establish a super specialty hospital, Rayalaseema Institute of Medical Sciences, (RIMS) in an extent of 200 acres near Kurnool. Participating as chief guest in the 37th annual conference of surgeons held at medical college auditorium here on Friday, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the RIMS would be constructed on the lines of SVIMS to provide quality treatment and sophisticated medical equipment to people of the Rayalaseema region.
The new super specialty hospital would soon be established in an extent of 200 acres, Mr Krishna Murthy said. He said that medical facilities would be developed at Kurnool medical college hospital, which started with 200 bed strength. The deputy chief minister assured his total cooperation towards development of Kurnool city in all aspects. Responding positively towards the conference, in which doctors of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States took part, the Deputy Chief Minister called upon the doctors to develop a culture of unity at all levels among both the states.
On the occasion, Mr Krishna Murthy had felicitated senior surgeons recognising their services in the field. AJI secretary P.S.K. Mishra, Director of Medical Education Shantha Rao, collector Vijay Mohan and several others participated at the conference. Surgeons from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states attended at the conference.
