Learn how to use Apple Pay on iPhone 6

It helps you make payments directly from iPhone 6

Mumbai: What’s the most unique feature which will want you to buy the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus? Besides the NFC technology, A8 chip, the Apple Pay option on your iPhone 6 will help you make payments directly from your phone.

Setup

To add a new card on iPhone, use your iSight camera to instantly capture your card information or simply type it in manually. The first card you add automatically becomes your default payment card, but you can go to Passbook anytime to pay with a different card or select a new default in Settings.

You will then be able to pay for goods and services by holding their phone near a contactless reader without having to unlock the mobile device or launch an app. The reader will verify the payment and the user’s identity after the user holds their finger on Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor.

Apple Pay lets you use iPhone 6 to pay at over 220,000 locations accepting contactless payments. You can easily pay for a burger at McDonald's Corp or groceries at Whole Foods Market Inc at the tap of a button

How does Apple Pay work?

A ‘Device Account Number’ has been added to iPhone 6, which is stored securely on its A8 chip. Your card data will only be stored on your iPhone 6, which means the Apple store employees also don’t have an access to the data on the card.

When the user makes a payment, the Device Account Number and a one-time, transaction-specific ‘dynamic security code’ are used to process the payment. iPhone 6 can easily notify you about the recent transactions list, but does not store purchases history on any devices or in the cloud.

Apple has inked deals with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and a number of major card-issuing banks like Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, Citi and Wells Fargo

And just in case your iPhone 6 is stolen, ‘Find My iPhone’ will let you disable Apple Pay on your device.
