Kings XI Punjab set to practice from today
New Delhi: Maiden Champions League qualifiers Kings XI Punjab go into serious preparations for the upcoming T20 tournament with a camp at their home base in Mohali from Friday.
Among those at the camp to be held at the PCA Stadium in Mohali will be IPL-7 season skipper George Bailey, former India opener Virender Sehwag, the explosive Glenn Maxwell and David Miller, Manan Vohra, Wriddhiman Saha, Mitchell Johnson, Akshar Patel, Rishi Dhawan, Karanveer Singh, Thisara Perera, Laxmipathy Balaji, Parvinder Awana, Anureet Singh and Mandeep Singh.
Running the show will be team coach Sanjay Bangar, bowling coach Joe Dawes and fielding coach R. Sridhar. “The boys performed extremely well in IPL-7 and we will sustain the momentum in the Champions League as well,” Bangar said in a team statement,
“As a part of this camp, we are going to work on the strengths of each player and further accentuate them in order to contribute effectively towards the team’s performance in the upcoming tournament. The boys are excited and we look forward to a great cricketing tournament.” he added, Kings XI Punjab will play four matches at the PCA Stadium on September 18, 20, 26 and 28.
