Award-winning novel made into a bilingual
Chennai: We have seen Tamil filmmakers coming out with intense movies, the scripts of which have been adapted from award winning novels. Vasanta Balan made Aravaan, which was based on Sahitya Academy winning novel Kaaval Kottam and Bala took his inspiration from Red Tea for Paradesi.
Now, we hear that popular Malayalam producer Rajeev Menon will be wielding the megaphone for a bilingual film titled Haridwaril Maniyosai in Tamil which is the screen adaptation of the Malayalam award winning novel Haridwaril Manigal Muzhangunnu penned by Sahitya Academy winner Mukundan. The story is set in Hardiwar and is about a youth who undergoes a life changing transformation after he visits the holy place.
Talking about his film, Rajeev who has been chosen as the President of Tamil Nadu State Boxing Association recently said, “It is a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam. I feel honored to make my debut in direction with the critically acclaimed novel and am taking utmost care to pen the screenplay.” Sources say that Dulquer or Fahadh Faasil will be approached for the Malayalam version, Vishal Krishna in Tamil.
