CPI(M) secretary G. Ramakrishnan said that slower economic growth in Tamil Nadu was the result of the failure of the government
Chennai: PMK and CPI(M) on Wednesday criticised the state government for the slower growth rate of 3.39 per cent in 2012-13.
In a statement, PMK founder Dr S. Ramadoss said tha economic growth rates released by the Central Statistics Office, showed that the Gross State Domestic Product of Tamil Nadu stood at 3.39 per cent, which was below the national average of 4.45 per cent.
State CPI(M) secretary G. Ramakrishnan said that slower economic growth in Tamil Nadu was the result of the failure of the government to take adequate measures to tackle the power cuts and deficit rainfall, following which the manufacturing and the agriculture sector had shown a negative growth in the state.
