Hyderabad: The Telangana household survey threw up some interesting figures about the improvement socio-economic conditions of people in the state.
The average size of the family in undivided state was 4.5 as per Census 2011. The Telangana survey puts the family size at just 3.2 indicating that there is a quantum jump in the number of nuclear families.
While the use of bicycles dropped from 32.1 per cent to 30 per cent, people possessing two-wheelers increased from 18.6 per cent to 28 per cent and four-wheelers from 2.7 per cent to 5 per cent.
Use of domestic LPG gas has increased from 35.8 per cent to 45 per cent. Households with television sets have increased from 58.8 per cent to 70 per cent, while that of radios fell drastically from 9.3 per cent to 5 per cent. Use of mobile phones has increased from 54 per cent to nearly 70 per cent, while landline phones declined to 2.5 per cent from 3.1 per cent.
