Immigration officer given two days to withdraw notice

Hyderabad: Justice Nooty Ramamohana Rao of the Hyderabad High Court on Wednesday pulled up the commissioner and joint director (immigration) for not withdrawing blue corner notice issued against a petitioner despite quashing of criminal proceedings by the High Court against the petitioner.
The judge was dealing with a plea by P. Lakshmi Ramakrishna Mohana Rao stating that a criminal case registered against him by his wife and the immigration authorities issued blue corner notice against him based on the report by the CID and the Hyderabad City Central Crime Station authorities.
The judge summoned the immigration officer and gave two days time to withdraw the notice.
The judge also suggested the official to evolve procedure to ensure that red corner and blue corner notices are withdrawn against citizens after their criminal cases registered are closed.
