It is media creating rift: Stalin
Chennai: DMK treasurer M.K. Stalin on Wednesday flayed a section of the media for attempting to drive a wedge between him and his father M. Karunanidhi, and the cadres.
In a statement, Stalin, who elicited party men’s views on Wednesday morning in neighbouring Tiruvallur on the LS poll drubbing, said, “Stop efforts to drive a wedge between me, party president (Karunanidhi) and cadres.”
Accusing a section of media for indulging in such a campaign “to create a rift”, the DMK heir apparent said, “Please stop creating the rift at least from now on. This is my appeal.” Stating that no results came out of the bid to produce a rift, the DMK treasurer said that such elements were spreading falsehood.
An oblique remark he made of a bid to “create persons inimical to him” was an apparent reference to projection of his siblings and former Union minister M.K. Alagiri and Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi as his rivals by sections of the media.
Stalin, who has completed a tour of 12 districts during which he interacted with party men to find out reasons for its debacle in the Lok Sabha polls, said the cadres remained dedicated to the party.
