DC IMPACT: Madani moved from Soukya to Sahaya

PDP leader shifted after reports that he was violating bail conditions

Bengaluru: The Chairman of the Kerala-based People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and 2008 Bengaluru serial blasts accused – Abdul Nasser Madani was on Wednesday moved out of ‘Soukya Holistic Health and Ayurveda Treatment Centre’ to sister holistic centre – ‘Sahaya Holistic Integrative Hospital’ in Jayanagar after Deccan Chronicle on September 4 reported that he was violating his bail condition regarding location of the hospital. According to the bail Madani should seek medical treatment within Bengaluru city limits and ‘Soukya’ comes under Bengaluru (Rural) limits.

“This morning around 11.45 am Madani was moved out from ‘Soukya,’ which is under Thirumalshettyhalli police station in Bengaluru rural district to ‘Sahaya’ in Jayanagar,” said Superintendent of Police Bengaluru (Rural), Ramesh Bhanoth.

“Madani was today moved to ‘Sahaya,’ where he will stay for some time. He will be referred to M.S. Ramaiah Hospital for investigation and required medical treatment,” said Dr Isaac Mathai, chairman, managing and medical director, ‘Soukya’ and ‘Sahaya.’

The Supreme Court, which had granted Madani one month bail on July 11 on health grounds, had directed him to stay in the City for his treatment. The police had raised objections to his stay at ‘Soukya’ and written to the court seeking direction. The apex court had further extended his bail to four more weeks on August 22 after his lawyer pleaded that his client was suffering from chronic ailments and visual impairment.
