‘Family’s the core, not core panel’
HDK snubs JD(S) seniors, says panel decision not binding
Gulbarga: Senior leaders of the JD(S) who are hoping for change in the way the party is run, may have to wait longer as former CM, H.D. Kumaraswamy, who recently held a meeting to introspect on its mistakes and prepare for a better future, has dropped hints that his family will continue to hold sway over party affairs.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Mr Kumaraswamy made it clear that while he would fulfill the demand of many in the party for constituting a core committee to discuss and take a stand on various issues of public importance, its role would only be advisory in nature .
Although he said the nine or 12- member core committee, to be announced in a couple of days after his return to Bengaluru, would not have any member of his family on board, he quickly dispelled the notion that it was taking a backseat by clarifying in response to a query that the decisions of the core committee would not be binding on the party.
Denying that his family had a stranglehold on party affairs, Mr Kumaraswamy said his son would not enter politics as speculated.
