Urban Hackathon on September 19
Hyderabad: With the aim to merge technology with good governance, the city will hold the ‘Urban Hackathon’ where the IT fraternity be brought on one platform to contribute ideas in the functioning of public transport, waste management, roads and power, finance and all other things that are required to transform Hyderabad into a global city. The event will be held from Sept. 19 in collaboration with ISB and with tech support from Microsoft as part of the 11th Metropolis World Congress 2014.
The theme being ‘Social Innovation with Digital Technology’ and will be open to online submissions of entries from participants before 11.59 pm on Friday, September 19. People can register at http://www.isb.edu/metropolis2014/registration. The age limit of the participants is 18-35 years.
The 32-hour event, will be conducted in three-stages where the participants will have discussions in consultation with IT companies, officials of Metropolis Congress and government of TS. The shortlisted entries be part of 36-hour Pre-Hackathon event at ISB, on Sept. 26 and 27. Winners of Pre-Hackathon to be part of Final event on Oct. 6th at HICC. The best five ideas will be awarded and given incubation opportunity by the state.
