Transfers lead to confusion
Hyderabad: After objections raised by Telugu Desam legislators and Seemandhra employees working in Telangana government on general transfers, the AP government has decided to transfer executive-level employees in the first phase. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to transfer all employees from village level to state level and orders were issued accordingly. However, at the recent Telugu Desam Legislature party (TDLP) meeting, many MLAs expressed displeasure over the decision of general transfers when the division of state level officers was not yet done permanently.
In the same way, Seemandhra employees who are working in Telangana were also of the same opinion. If general transfers are done before the final allotment of state-level officers between the two states, they will miss important posts after they are allotted to AP government. The TD MLAs told the Chief Minister to transfer executive employees like village revenue officer (VRO), village secretaries, MROs and others for the time being. They said after final allotment of state cadre officers between the states, general transfers could be done. Meanwhile, Mr Naidu asked all the head of the departments (HoDs) to ask options from all the employees in their preview and submit it to him by September 20. After getting the reports from HoDs, the CM will take a decision. The period for general transfers is by end of September. According to sources, the government wants to transfer the teachers through counselling.
