Telangana Household Survey data in 3 days: CM K Chandrasekhar Rao
K. Chandrasekhar Rao blamed Andhra hegemony of destroying Telangana culture
Hyderabad: Stating Telangana culture should be imbibed in every aspect of life in the new state, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said the Intensive Household Survey data, threw up several surprises. It would be ready in two to three days.
“The survey threw up several surprises. There are four lakh new houses in Hyderabad, which the GHMC commissioner was unaware of. It was not recorded by GHMC and no property tax paid,” he said.
“What is this? Is it Chandulal’s darbar or what? Kaloji would have written a satire on this. Some people found fault with the survey. Is it wrong to survey human beings? Is it wrong to survey whether there are human beings or not? Mr Rao asked.
The state’s population has touched 4.3 crore and not 3.5 crore as believed, he added. The CM was chief guest at the birth centenary celebrations of noted poet Kaloji Narayana Rao at Ravindra Bharathi here on Tuesday.
“We will do what Telangana people want. I have told officials to shift to Telangana mode. I want everything with a Telangana touch and not an Andhra touch including official papers. Telangana is a state for weaker sections. Eight per cent of people belong to weaker sections,” he said.
“Is it not shameful? We don’t bother about our fellow human beings living on pavements. There should be no pavement and slum dwellers in Hyderabad. Some people are living in sprawling bungalows. The Warangal collector’s bungalow is located on an 85 acre site. Are we kings? Should we have such huge space when others live on pavements?” he asked.
Mr Rao said that he had a fight with TRS secretary general Dr K. Keshava Rao on an issue and added it was pathetic to hear that there were 4.5 lakh people living on pavements in Hyderabad.
He blamed Andhra hegemony of destroying Telangana culture, ignoring Telangana poets, writers and other literary figures.
“The excellence of Telangana was thoroughly and willfully killed. Kaloji and Dasarathi were ignored. This will not happen in Telangana,” he asserted. Stating that the government would soon come out with a road map and milestone for development of Telangana, he said one goal of Telangana has been achieved and there was a need to set another goal for its development.
