Hyderabad: Actress Sanjjanaa is the first from Tollywood to take up the Rice Bucket Challenge. The actress is in town to shoot her film Avunu 2. Talking about the challenge, she says, “I read so much about the Rice Bucket challenge on the social media and I was surprised that no one from Tollywood has come forward to take up this cause. So I wanted to do it on my own and I did it on Tuesday.
The actress took the initiative and gave a rice filled bucket to the poor. “I got the challenge for ice bucket, but I didn’t take it up as I had already donated money for it. But later, I thought of taking the Rice Bucket Challenge because it’s a good way to reach the poor people directly and this is an immediate help for them,” says the actress.
The actress has now challenged a few from the Tollywood film fraternity to do the same. She named Manchu Manoj, Lakshmi Manchu, Allari Naresh, Tanishq, Navdeep, Rana Daggubati, Puri Jagannath, Sundeep Kishan, Allu Arjun, Allu Sirish and Harshavardhan Rane.
“Please do not break the chain! Challenge at least five others to do the same. Do it or donate at least Rs 2,000 rupees to a poor family,” she has appealed to them all.
