Shilpa Shukla may be Sujoy Ghosh's 'Durga'

Mumbai: Kahaani director Sujoy Ghosh’s Durga Rani Singh has been in the news for its casting for a while now. Kareena Kapoor, Kangna Ranaut and Vidya Balan were the original choices for the title role but we now hear the director has approached a relatively lesser known face. Our source says, “Shilpa Shukla of Chak De India and B.A. Pass fame has been offered the part, which comes as quite a surprise considering the names of A-listers had been short-listed earlier. Buzz is that the film has a couple of intimate scenes and the superstar actresses were apprehensive about them. So now Shilpa is most likely to bag the part. As of now only Irrfan Khan is a confirmed member of the cast.”
