Vijayawada: The VMC Workers Union on Monday demanded a permanent solution to the problems of its employees and workers.The union members staged a protest at VMC main gate, demanding the commissioner to act on the problems made to employees.
The protesters listed several demands in the memorandum submitted to the commissioner, including release of the pending two months salaries, salaries in the first week of every month, regularisation of contract and outsourcing staff, settlements of pension benefits to retired employees, full payment of arrears from 2011, apartments for employees who don’t have a house, increase of retirement age from 58 to 60 years.
