K Shrinivas Rao explained the rags to riches story of North Carolina state

Visakhapatnam: Vizag’s pharmaceutical industry can grow leaps and bounds if right support is available from the state government, said K. Srinivasa Rao, managing director of Indian Institute of Biotechnology Private Limited, as he explained the rags to riches story of North Carolina (NC) state in the USA.
Mr Rao said, “North Carolina is now home to more than 500 pharmaceutical companies but 10 years ago it was not much different than Vizag.” He said that 10 years ago the state government of NC invested $1 Billion for establishing a pharmaceutical industry in the state and provided the right atmosphere and now 180,000 people have been employed by the pharma industry.
