Hyderabad: A 45-year-old Muslim businessman from Yakutpura, identified as Mohammad Nazeeruddin, purchased the Chandrayangutta Ganesh ladoo for Rs 1.21 lakh in an auction. He believes that if he sprinkles the ladoo power on his fields, his crops will yield better.
Mr Nazeeruddin said, “In 2006, I participated in the Kanchanbagh ladoo auction and purchased it for Rs 11,000. When I sprinkled the ladoo powder on my fields in Bhongir, I got a good yield the next year.”
He also owns an electrical store in Yakutpura.
Visakhapatnam gets highest price:
Visakhapatnam: The first Ganesh Chaturthi after the division of state saw the costliest ladoo ever auctioned in Vizag. A ladoo of a mandap at Duvvada area fetched a whopping Rs 12.7 lakh. The 27-kg ladoo was made by Sri Bhakta Anjaneyya Sweets of Tapeswaram in East Godavari.
Three realtors, A. Ramadevi, D. Bhaskar Reddy and K. Krishna Bhargav, all Vizagites, bought the ladoo. Ten people took part in the auction.
