Telangana State must repay Rs 25,000 crore

The state owed Rs 11,000 crore to the World Bank, JICA and other external agencies
Hyderabad:The TS government over the next six years has to repay Rs 25,000 crore to funding agencies. This apart, several thousands of crores were raised from external agencies like World Bank and the Centre by undivided AP.
The united state owed Rs 11,000 crore to the World Bank, JICA and other external agencies. Another Rs 13,000 crore have to be received to implement ongoing projects. These loans have to be divided project-wise between the states, and Telan-gana, being a new state, has to enter fresh agreements
with these agencies.
The burden on account of foreign aid will be more on Telangana as several projects such as the Outer Ring Road, Hussainsagar cleaning, modernisation of power supply system in the city are located in the capital.
Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has urged the Centre to complete early distribution of loans between both the states so that they can plan repayment.
