Vijayawada: With Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressing his intent quite clearly that he wants to develop Vijayawada, the capital, and its surroundings, on par with best cities in world, Singapore-based construction firms are lining up to extend their services and help achieve this.
Representatives of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Singapore, a government body and Vijayawada Builders Association (VBA) met here on Sunday, where two companies associated with the BCA expressed their desire to come up with plans to build a concept-based capital.
The meeting, organised by VBA saw representatives of various associations, architects and other bigwigs from Vijayawada taking part. Mayor Koneru Sridhar and MP K. Srinivas were present.
Showcasing their capability to build an eco-friendly city, BCA seni-or manager John Tan explained how they had built Tianjin Eco-city in China in six years.
KU Srinivasan, chief strategy officer of CKR Contract Services Pte Ltd said that his company has a single window system where all the capital needs can be addressed. “As a partner with BCA, we can build Vijayawada. For this, we can mobilise anything from any part of the world,” he said.
MP K. Srinivas said that affordable accommodation was the need of the hour and any company that comes forward to contribute to capital building should bear this in mind.
He said any project should be cost effective and affordable for all.
