Team monitoring passengers for Ebola gets protective gear
Masks, gloves, shoes and other protective gears have been distributed
Chennai: The medical team monitoring passengers arriving from Ebola affected countries has been given masks, gloves, shoes and other protective gear following the death of two doctors treating Ebola patients in Nigeria recently.
The six doctors from the Saidapet, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur Government Hospitals and seven health inspectors, who eere deputed at the airport three weeks ago, have been doing preliminary checks on passengers from the affected countries like Nigeria, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Over 300 passengers, who landed at the four airports of Chennai, Tiruchy, Coimbatore and Madurai since the first week of August have been kept under observation.
