Sixteen villages marooned
Rainfall causes heavy inflow of water from rivers enter villages
karimnagar: As many as 16 villages in Mahadevapur mandal have been isolated as rivers around the places saw heavy inflow of water caused by rains on Saturday. The culverts, built on the roads connecting the villages to other parts, were inundated following heavy inflow. The villages that got marooned included Pankena, Palimela, Bodaigudem, Neelampelli, Modedu, Ichcham-pelli, Mukkanooru, Burugguda, Sarwaipeta, Laxmipur, Kamanpelli, Tinnetigudem, Appajipet, Peddampeta, etc.
The villages have got disconnected with other villages as three rivers are in spate owing to heavy downpours.Significantly, most of these villages have lost links with their neighbouring hamlets. Since residents of these villages are prone to diseases, the medical authorities have decided to conduct medical camps there. Meanwhile, several villages, including some hamlets, are continuing to be isolated for the last few days due to rains registered in recent times. However, the authorities concerned had failed to take precautionary measures to avoid recurrence of such a situation in more villages.
