Repay crop loans to get waiver benefit: Collector

Ongole: The district administration urged the farmers and self-help group women who have taken loans from the banks to repay their loans to get interest waiver on their loans. District collector G.S.R.K.R. Vijaykumar addressed the district-level bankers meet held in the city on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that those who repay their loans will get fresh loans and urged the beneficiaries avail the facility extended by the government. He said that the government decided to waive crop loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh.
He directed the officials to complete cent per cent Aadhar cards by December-end this year and added that out of 40 lakh families, Aadhar cards were distributed to 38.5 lakh families and directed the officials to issue them to the remaining families in the district. He instructed the officials to open special counters for this purpose and directed the joint collector Yaqub Naik to monitor it.
He told the officials to motivate people to open banks accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana by January-end next year. He urged the officials of the DRDA and MEPMA to extend their co-operation to the bankers to open bank accounts.Syndicate Bank DGM C.B.L. Narasimha Rao, RBI AGM P.S. Ranga Rao, lead bank manager K. Narasimha Rao were among those present.
