Ongole: As many as 80,000 houses in Ongole Municipal Corporation are likely to get new door numbers from November 1. The OMC has already notified the new doors numbers in the gazette and pasted it in the revenue divisional officer’s office, important post offices and municipal office for taking objections from the house owners. After taking objections, the final list of new door numbers will be notified in the gazette and will come in force very soon.
It will take one month to 45 days’ time. The existing door numbers were given to the houses in 1975, which were in disorder. The Cad Info Software, a consultancy engaged by the OMC, conducted a survey on pilot basis in some divisions in the city.
With the permission of the OMC, it has given new door numbers to all the 80,0000 houses in the city which will come into force very soon, said a senior official in the town planning department of the OMC.
He urged the house owners, if they have any objections to inform their objections on the new doors numbers to solve their problems. The OMC has taken up this work after 39-years, he added. After taking objections, the town planning officials will make some changes and publish the final gazette notification. All the houses and shops and establishments would be given new door numbers.
Meanwhile, the town planning officials are waiting for final gazette publication for issuing new door numbers in the city.
