Krishna River is been seen as the place for the setup of Zoo

Vijayawada: Establishing a zoological park in or around Vijayawada appears to be necessity, especially now that it is the capital of Andhra Pradesh. The city had so far very little to offer in terms of relaxation, save for cinema theatres and a few gaming zones that came up recently. However, there is still no place in the city that offers relaxation as well as infotainment to children and elders alike.
Almost all of the capital cities in country have zoo parks for both entertainment and education purposes. Vizag, though not a capital city, still has a zoo park. “It would be really good to have a zoo park in the capital. Krishna River, alongside the city is an added advantage, as the Zoo Park would need perennial water sources for easier maintenance. It could be set up anywhere on the bank of the river or at a lake,” said K. Ashok Kumar, division forest officer, Vijayawada. Mr Kumar said that they did not receive any orders from state government over the zoo park.
