Staff set to organise Ganesh idol immersion in a peaceful way in Bhainsa
ADILABAD: The people of the communally sensitive Bhainsa town wants peace to prevail in the town following the Vinayak Chaturti and members of peace committee were trying to change town’s image which was marred by some unfortunate incidents that took place in the past.
The district police received instructions from the state government to deploy additional police forces as security in Bhainsa and its surrounding areas keeping in view the day of Ganesh idol immersion slated for September 6. The state government took all measures to avoid untoward incidents in town as this is the first Ganesh festival being celebrated in the separate Telangana state.
It is learnt that the state government took a serious note of the Ganesh idol immersion communally sensitive Bhainsa town in the wake of elections for Medak Lok Sabha seat, where temperament of leaders of TRS and BJP is running high, and also keeping in mind the Telangana ‘brand image’.
For the first time, representatives and leaders of both the communities came on to a single platform, and released pigeons in the air as a symbolic gesture wishing peace ahead of Ganesh idol immersion scheduled to be held on Sunday.
Additional police forces have been deployed in the town, while as many as 25 CCTV cameras were installed at identified centre points in the town. Meanwhile, 12 police video cameramen are also engaged to monitor the situation.
Members of peace committee took oath to organise Ganesh idol immersion in a peaceful way during the peace rallies held on September 3.
Bhainsa Municipal Vice-Chairman and MIM district president Jabir Ahmed, Bhainsa DSP Ravula Giridhar and Bhainsa Hindu Utsava Committee president and general secretaries Vilas Gadewar and Dr Nagesh appealed the people to maintain peace and communal harmony.
Two Additional SPs, eight DSPs, 19 Circle Inspectors and 68 sub-inspectors, three women SIs, 50 ASIs and 280 head constables , 890 constables, 360 Armed Reserve cops, three companies of CRPF, 200 TSSP police , 28 women police constables, 390 home guards, four dog squads, six bomb disposal squads and 14 special branch police will be monitoring the situation. Police set up picketing at the entry of the town and two check posts on the out skirts.
District SP Dr Gajarao Bhupal is personally monitoring the situation in Bhainsa and will camp in the town to ensure peaceful conduct of Ganesh idol immersion.
