Judge recuses himself from medical college fee plea
Hyderabad: Justice P.V. Sanjay Kumar of the Hyderabad High Court on Friday recused hinmself from hearing of a PIL challenging the action of the Telangana state government in amending the fee structure of management quota seats in minority and non-minority private unaided medical colleges for the academic year 2014-15.
Telangana Students Joint Action Committee, represented by its president D. Balaraju, moved the PIL challenging the GOs issued on August 9 and August 10 amending the fee structure for C1-category management quota seats from Rs 5.5 lakh to Rs 9 lakh in non-minority institutions and for B1-category seats in minority institutions from Rs 6 lakh to Rs 9 lakh.
The PIL was listed before a division bench comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice Sanjay Kumar and as Justice Sanjay Kumar has recused to hear the matter, the CJ directed the registry to post the case before another bench.
