Andhra Pradesh teachers to get tabs, says CM Chandrababu Naidu

CM underscored the role education in bringing about social change and development
GUNTUR: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is keen on introducing the American style of education in the state. He wants to digitalise education, with I-pods and tabs provided to teachers and make AP into the first digital state of the country, by reforming the education system. The CM also wants to introduce audio/visual classes, with question and answer sessions, in the government schools.
Mr Naidu revealed all these plans in Guntur on Friday, while participating in the Guru Pujotsavam celebration at the Police Parade Grounds. He presented Best Teacher award to 177 teachers from thirteen districts on the occasion.
He underscored the role education in bringing about social change and development and said that he would want to bank on students for achieving that in the coming years.
The CM added that with the introduction of the digital education system, for which an action plan would be drafted soon, heavy schoolbags would become a thing of the past.
Addressing the students and teachers, Mr Naidu lamented that while students can choose their field of study and subjects in America and other foreign countries, parents are mostly the decision-makers in India, which hampers innovative thinking and budding talent.
