Keralite’s body found who was abducted by extremists in Arunachal Pradesh

The one-week-old body was found with its hands and legs tied in a sack deep inside the forest

Kottayam: Pappalaparampil Chacko, 55, a native of Puthupally near Kottayam, who was abducted by extremists in Arunachal Pradesh nine days ago, was found dead inside a forest region, almost 200 km from Itanagar, on Saturday.
According to police reports, the one-week-old body was found with its hands and legs tied in a sack deep inside the forest. Chacko, who had been residing in Itanagar for the past 15 years, was doing hardware business there.
Sources from Puthupally said that Chacko owned elephants earlier and that he has relatives in Puthupally. Chacko’s wife had appealed to the extremists to release her husband on humanitarian grounds while the police had launched a hunt for the abductors. Abductions are common in Arunachal Pradesh and only a few weeks back an official of the State Bank of India was released safely by the extremists. Chacko has two children who are studying for medicine.
